This gift will feed one elephant their delicious grains for one week!
Elephants consume several hundred pounds of vegetation daily. 15-20 hours of an elephant’s day is spent feeding. Adult elephants can eat between 200-600 lbs of food per day. Although at Sanctuary, they have acres to roam, graze and forage, they still need supplemental feeding. These feedings allow us to add vitamins and other supplements and medication that is required due to a lifetime in captivity. While essential for their health, the girls also enjoy their grain very much.
